I remember the smell was very strong.The govenment of the day,having told the public that they had no 'NAYPARM' promtley bombed the Torrey Canyon . NAYPARM was ideal because stuck to the hull and the tar which floated on the serface.The wife of the army officer whow was in charge stayed in the same Pub and gave us all the info.
